Educator Effectiveness alternate log in

NC public schools will be led by 21st Century professionals. Participants will deconstruct the North Carolina School Executive Standards and generate coaching strategies for improving school leader performance along the continuum from “Developing” to “Distinguished”.

During the session, participants will synthesize the components of the NC Rubric for Evaluating School Leaders. Additionally, time will be provided for participants to generate coaching questions.
  • Connect the principal evaluation process and School Executive Standards to evidences.
  • Determine expectations for evidences of "proficient" and "accomplished" principals by using the evaluation process with fidelity.
Learner Outcomes:
  • Understand the principal/assistant principal evaluation process.
  • Explore the School Executive Standards.
  • Generate coaching conversations/questions.

North Carolina Educator Evaluation System (NCEES) for Principals and Assistant Principals

  • Understand the process for evaluating principals and assistant principals.
  • Review Policy TCP-C-005.
  • Review the steps in the evaluation cycle.
  • Understand the ratings on the continuum from developing to distingushed.
Framework for the North Carolina Standards for School Executives
In this part of the session I can:
  • Understand the framework for the evaluation process.

Analysis and Evidences: Standards 1-7
In this part of the session I can:
  • Analyze evidences/behaviors aligned with the School Executive Standards.
  • Generate strategies/action steps for guiding the professional development of school leaders.
Using Conferences to Coach for Peak Performance
In this part of the session I can:
  • Assess qualities of effective coaching.
  • Generate questions to use when coaching principals/assistant principals for peak performance.
