Purpose/Overview:

Review and develop familiarity with the new North Carolina Educator Evaluation System (NCEES) online evaluation system so that participants have a basic understanding of the interface and general workflow expectations. Engage participants in an overview of the principal evaluation process.

Description:

During the session, facilitator will review/demonstrate the organization of the platform/program, highlighting the alignment of the workflow to the existing North Carolina Educator Evaluation Process. Additionally, time will be provided for participants to examine district level expectations for the principal evaluation process in PSRC.

Objectives:
  • Review the configuration of the new NCEES platform.
  • Demonstrate the workflow.
  • Connect the principal evaluation process and School Executive Standards to evidences.
  • Determine district level expectations for evidences of "proficient" and "accomplished" principals by using the evaluation process with fidelity.

Learner Outcomes:
  • Understand the configuration of the new TNL NCEES platform.
  • Understand the workflow in the online tool.
  • Explore the principal evaluation process and School Executive Standards.
  • Use the principal evaluation process with fidelity.

  • Explore the layout of the new online evaluation system.
  • Recognize user rights within the new online evaluation system.
  • Understand the terminology within the new online evaluation system.
  • Understand the process for completing educator evaluation documents in the TNL online tool.

North Carolina Educator Evaluation System (NCEES) for Principals and Assistant Principals

  • Understand the process for evaluating principals and assistant principals.
  • Review Policy TCP-C-005.
  • Review the steps in the evaluation cycle.
  • Understand the ratings on the continuum from developing to distinguished.

  • Generate strategies/action steps for guiding the professional development of PSRC school leaders.
